Want to learn Hindi in India? Our Hindi courses are carefully crafted to get you speaking, listening to, reading, and writing Hindi with ease and confidence. All our highly experienced teachers are native Hindi speakers, with the expertise and know-how of Rosemounts behind them.
We understand that everyone’s circumstances differ which is why we offer online courses and physical ‘in-person’ courses. You can even blend both – so start learning before you come to India via our online courses.
We understand that it’s not always possible to come to us. That’s why we have adapted the award-winning courses we run at the Institute for an online setting. You still get the benefit of learning from a ‘real’ teacher but the comfort of your own home. Students get 121 ‘live’ online lessons with our Hindi teacher as well as a certificate on completion.

Structured 121 courses: Designed for absolute beginners through to advanced levels. Students are led through structured courses that follow a set syllabus, accompanied by assignments, assessments, and review materials.

Bespoke 121 classes: Ideal for students who already have some knowledge of Hindi and have very specific learning objectives. You set the direction for the classes. Our teacher carries out an initial assessment and then designs a course according to your learning requirements and level. Structured group courses are also available on request.
Learning Hindi in India is the most effective way of acquiring the language. Our courses offer a fully immersive experience that includes learning about the traditions and culture of India alongside the language. Students get the opportunity to test their newly acquired Hindi language skills by using them in real-life situations. We understand that the language spoken on the streets is quite different from academic Hindi so we make sure that you are exposed to both styles.
Our group classes are small, rarely exceeding three to four students which makes the classes more personalized and engaging. Video, audio, group, and pair work activities make the classes interesting and exciting. We also take students out to the bazaars, temples, and other places of interest accompanied by a teacher so you can learn at large. This gives you the courage to use your newly-acquired Hindi language skills in a real-life setting and of course, experience our fascinating culture.
For students who have no experience or exposure to the Hindi language and wonder if it’s for them. Perfect for those looking to get a feel for the language, or are perhaps nervous about learning another language. This is offered as an online option only.
This short course is designed to introduce students to the language in a fun and engaging way. With a specific focus on speaking, we aim to build your confidence and develop a love of the language. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to understand some very basic expressions and introduce yourself to others.
There are no pre-requisites for this course as it is designed for an absolute beginner. Students taking this course will be able to join our Basic Hindi Part 1 course partway through.

For students who have no or very little experience of Hindi, or have been exposed to the language before but perhaps a long time ago. Perfect for those looking to travel, work or relocate to India or for those living abroad who might have family or links to India.
This course is designed to introduce students to the basic building blocks of the language. With a specific focus on speaking we also provide initial training in the other important skills associated with language learning; reading, writing, and listening.
The overall aim is to build confidence, develop a love of the language and build a solid platform for further learning. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to understand and use very basic expressions, introduce yourselves to others and ask basic questions. Interact simply with others as long as the other person speaks slowly and clearly.
There are no prerequisites for this course as it is designed for an absolute beginner. If you do have some knowledge of Hindi, whilst it is advisable to start with Basic Hindi Part 1, you might be able to skip straight to Basic Hindi Part 2 – this would be decided after an assessment.

This course is designed to continue basic level training in all of the necessary skills associated with the use of the language; speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
The overall aim is to further your confidence, build accuracy and fluency and continue to build a solid platform for further learning. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to understand frequently used expressions, complete tasks that are routine and involve a direct exchange of information, describe matters of immediate need in simple terms, and understand short texts on familiar topics.
Students must have either completed our Basic Hindi Course or be equivalent to an A1 [CEFR level] learner. Students should be able to speak, read and write some Basic Hindi. Your level would be assessed by our entry-level assessment beforehand.

The overall aim is to further your confidence, build accuracy and fluency and continue to build a solid platform for further learning. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to understand points regarding family, work, school, or leisure-related topics, deal with most travel situations, describe experiences, events, dreams, and ambitions, as well as create simple texts on topics of personal interest.
Students must have either completed our Elementary Hindi Courses or be equivalent to an A2 [CEFR level] learner. Students should be able to speak, read and write basic Hindi. Your level would be assessed by our entry-level assessment beforehand.

Students must have either completed our Intermediate Hindi Course or be equivalent to a B2 [CEFR level] learner. Students should be able to speak, read and write Hindi to a high standard. Your level would be assessed by our entry-level assessment beforehand.

Students must have either completed our Advanced Hindi 1 Course or be equivalent to a C1 [CEFR level] learner. Students should be able to speak, read and write Hindi proficiently. Your level would be assessed by our entry-level assessment beforehand.

Answer – The duration of the Hindi language course depends on your current Hindi knowledge. For the in-person course we recommend 4 weeks/ 80 hrs of Hindi learning for each course level. For the online courses, we recommend taking modules of 40 hrs at a time. The pace depends on your requirements. Fees for all our courses are available on request.
