Which UG admission forms are open now for 2027?
The first important 2027 application cluster arrives while students are still in Class 12. Law leads the calendar: CLAT, AILET and SLAT all opened before September 2026, with tests scheduled in December. Krea University’s first undergraduate round and registration for the February 2027 CSEET session were also live when this guide was reviewed.
UCEED is different: IIT Bombay has confirmed the 17 January 2027 examination date and said that detailed information will be released by 1 October 2026. Registration dates should not be guessed before that notice appears.
- CLAT: apply by 31 October 2026; examination on 6 December 2026.
- AILET: apply by 10 November 2026; examination on 13 December 2026.
- SLAT: register and pay by 4 December 2026; tests on 19 and 26 December 2026.
- CSEET February session: register by 31 October 2026; exam enrolment is a separate later step.
- Krea Round 1: apply by 25 October 2026; assessment on 2–3 November 2026.
- UCEED: examination on 17 January 2027; detailed notice due by 1 October 2026.
Science entrance exams after Class 12 in 2027
Science students often receive the longest exam list, but a useful plan is built around programmes rather than abbreviations. The student should first choose a direction—engineering, research science, medicine, allied health, pharmacy or agriculture—and then identify the score and counselling route for each named institution.
PCM: engineering, computing and research science
JEE Main is the main route to NITs, IIITs and other participating institutions, while JEE Advanced is required for IIT admission. The 2027 notices were not available at the time of review, so January and April for JEE Main and May for JEE Advanced should be treated only as planning windows.
BITSAT, VITEEE, MET, SRMJEEE, COMEDK and state examinations can form a sensible parallel layer when they connect to institutions the student would genuinely attend. IISER IAT, NEST, ISI and CMI are distinct research or mathematics routes, not merely engineering backups.
- Check board-performance, subject, age and attempt rules only in the 2027 bulletin.
- For IISER admissions, the 2026 BS-MS rule required at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics; some programmes separately required Mathematics.
- JoSAA, CSAB and state counselling require fresh registrations after results; an exam score does not enter a student automatically.
PCB: medicine, nursing, allied health and biosciences
NEET UG 2027 had not been announced when this guide was checked. Families can keep May as a planning watch, but should not treat any exact May date circulating online as official until NTA publishes the bulletin.
Medical counselling normally has more than one layer. MCC runs the notified All-India, central, AIIMS, JIPMER and deemed-university pools, while state authorities run state-quota counselling. AYUSH uses AACCC and state processes. Nursing, physiotherapy, medical laboratory technology, optometry, audiology and pharmacy may use different state or institution routes.
- The 2026 AIIMS B.Sc (Hons) Nursing prospectus limited that programme to female candidates; the 2027 prospectus must be rechecked.
- Many pharmacy programmes accept PCB or PCM, but each programme notice controls eligibility.
- CUET bioscience choices must be matched to each university’s programme-specific subject combination.
Commerce, economics and management admissions in 2027
Commerce students may combine degree admissions with professional routes, but each has a separate clock. CUET can open selected B.Com, economics and management programmes. IPMAT Indore, IPMAT Rohtak, JIPMAT, NPAT, SET and Christ University use their own admission processes and should not be treated as one common management examination.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India applies a four-month registration period for Foundation examinations. Under that standing rule, registration by 1 January is required for a May attempt; students should still verify the May 2027 examination notice and remember that course registration and exam application are separate steps.
- The restructured CSEET is centre-based and held three times a year—in February, June and October—not quarterly.
- IIM Indore and IIM Rohtak have separate IPM processes and different degree or exit structures.
- Class 12 Mathematics keeps more economics, finance and quantitative-management options open, but it is not a universal commerce requirement.
Law entrance exams for 2027 admission
The main National Law University application season is already active. CLAT covers undergraduate law programmes at participating NLUs; NLU Delhi runs AILET separately. Symbiosis law programmes use SLAT and then their own institute-level stages.
The published AILET BA LLB seat matrix lists 110 domestic seats through AILET and 10 seats for foreign nationals or OCI candidates. Jindal Global Law School’s current BA LLB admission page uses LNAT—UK, so students should not be directed to JSAT as its default law entrance.
- CLAT 2027 eligibility: 45% in the qualifying examination, or 40% for SC, ST and PwD applicants; appearing students are eligible and there is no upper-age limit.
- AILET 2027 is offline and applies a deduction of 0.25 marks for an incorrect multiple-choice answer.
- CLAT, AILET and SLAT share substantial preparation in comprehension, reasoning and current affairs, but every form and institutional stage remains separate.
Design and architecture entrances in 2027
Design and architecture should not be grouped under one eligibility label. UCEED, NID DAT and NIFT lead to design routes, while B.Arch programmes use NATA or JEE Main Paper 2A as notified. The subject gates are different.
Under the 2026 UCEED rule, a candidate could attempt UCEED at most twice and in consecutive years. The 2026 common B.Des admission process included seven participating institutes; other institutes that accepted a UCEED score were not the same as participating institutes.
- NIFT’s 2026 rule allowed any stream for B.Des; B.F.Tech required Physics and Mathematics—not the usual shorthand ‘PCM required’.
- The 2026 B.Arch route required Physics and Mathematics plus one listed third subject and 45% aggregate, or a 10+3 diploma with Mathematics and 45%.
- NID 2027 dates, NIFT 2027 dates and NATA 2027’s attempt policy were still awaited at the time of review.
CUET UG 2027 and central-university admissions
CUET is a major undergraduate route, but it is not one national counselling system. NTA conducts the examination and publishes scores. Universities then run their own programme rules, preference systems and counselling or admission portals.
A university appearing on NTA’s participating list does not prove that every undergraduate programme at that institution uses CUET. Students must check the programme mapping before choosing their CUET papers, then register again with each target university after results when required.
- Jamia Millia Islamia used CUET for selected programmes in 2026, not all undergraduate admission.
- For DU B.Com (Hons), the 2026 mapping included a Mathematics/Applied Mathematics route or an Accountancy/Bookkeeping route alongside a language and domain subjects; recheck 2027.
- The 2026 CUET (ICAR-UG) bulletin used a 20% seat framework at participating agricultural universities, with 100% at identified institutions; it did not create a 15% quota at every State Agricultural University.
- Name the programme and university before selecting CUET papers.
- Check the university’s subject combination and Class 12 eligibility.
- Submit the NTA form and sit only the tests required for the chosen programmes.
- After results, complete every separate university counselling or admission form.
- Track preferences, documents, allocations, upgrades and fee deadlines independently.
State universities and Uttarakhand UG admissions
State admissions remain one of the most important affordable layers in a student’s list. Some states use common portals, some universities run their own tests, some use Class 12 merit and some adopt CUET only for selected programmes. Domicile and category documents can materially affect eligibility and should be prepared before the summer rush.
Bihar’s OFSS should not appear in an undergraduate list: it is a system for Intermediate or Class XI admission after Class 10. Bihar UG applicants must use the relevant university’s UMIS, Samarth or own admission portal.
How the Uttarakhand routes divide
The Uttarakhand Samarth admission portal covers the institutions and programmes listed by the state higher-education system. HNB Garhwal University is a central university and uses its own current programme notices with applicable CUET mapping. Technical, agricultural and health-science routes have separate authorities.
- Doon University’s 2026 prospectus used university entrance tests for many UG programmes; B.Tech and B.Sc Computer Science used JEE Main. The 2026 entrance dates were 18–19 June, not 28 June.
- GBPUAT routes varied by programme across its own entrance, JEE or state processes and applicable ICAR/CUET counselling. One route or quota percentage should not be applied to every programme.
- HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University runs notified state nursing and paramedical processes as well as state NEET UG counselling.
- Private universities such as UPES, Graphic Era and DIT use institution-specific applications and selection routes even when they accept a national examination score.
How to build a personal UG admissions calendar
A national calendar is a starting point, not the student’s final plan. The useful version is shorter and personal: it includes only programmes the student is eligible for, can afford and would genuinely consider.
- Write the intended course, institution and campus—not only the exam name.
- Group choices as reach, realistic and safer options, with affordability considered in every group.
- Record subject gates, age or attempt rules, domicile, category and portfolio or interview requirements.
- Separate registration, payment, correction, examination, result and counselling dates.
- Assign one person to own each action and retain the official source link beside it.
- Review the calendar monthly and replace every forecast when the 2027 authority notice appears.
