RIASEC Guide

RIASEC interest assessment · Complimentary online starting point

Discover your interest pattern, then explore what it means.

The Rosemounts Career Direction Discovery Assessment uses the RIASEC framework to show the activities and work environments that presently interest you. It is an interest assessment—not an aptitude test or a diagnostic verdict.

About five minutes · 24 questions · Six interest areas · Instant printable exploration report.

How it works

From activity preferences to a responsible next step.

The assessment provides evidence for exploration. It deliberately avoids promising that one short result can decide a person’s future.

01

Step 1 · Activities

Respond to the activities that interest you

The assessment asks about activities and work situations. Answer from your present preferences rather than choosing what sounds prestigious or what someone else expects you to like.

  • 24 activity questions
  • No right or wrong interest answer
  • Most learners finish in about five minutes
02

Step 2 · Six areas

See the complete RIASEC pattern

Your report shows Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional scores together. Close scores remain close rather than being forced into a false ranking.

Understand the six RIASEC types
  • All six interest areas
  • Responsible handling of close scores
  • A printable exploration report

Step 3 · Next evidence

Use the result to investigate, not obey

The result suggests questions, environments and activities worth exploring. It does not measure aptitude, diagnose a person or identify one perfect occupation. Education, skills, values, opportunity and context still matter.

  • Research directions rather than job instructions
  • Test ideas through real experience
  • Keep important choices human and revisable

Use the report

Create new evidence after the assessment.

A result becomes more useful when it changes what you investigate and try next.

  1. 01

    Notice the pattern

Read every area and the relationships among the strongest and closest scores.

  2. 02

    Generate questions

Identify activities, subjects and environments that could express the pattern in more than one way.

  3. 03

    Run a real-world test

Use a project, conversation, course or observation to confirm, challenge or deepen the interpretation.
