RIASEC Guide

RIASEC interest assessment · Complimentary online starting point

See what interests you, then explore where it could lead.

RIASEC shows the activities and work settings that interest you now. It is one part of career guidance—not an aptitude test or a final answer.

About five minutes · 24 questions · Six interest areas · Instant printable exploration report.

How it works

Answer, understand and explore.

This assessment gives you a starting point. It does not decide your future.

01

Step 1 · Activities

Answer from your own experience

Choose the activities and work situations that interest you—not what sounds impressive or what someone else expects.

  • 24 activity questions
  • No right or wrong interest answer
  • Most learners finish in about five minutes
02

Step 2 · Six areas

See all six interest areas

Your report shows Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional interests together. Close scores stay together.

Understand the six RIASEC types
  • All six interest areas
  • Responsible handling of close scores
  • A printable exploration report
03

Step 3 · Next evidence

Explore the result—do not obey it

The result gives you ideas to investigate. It does not measure aptitude or name one perfect career. Academics, skills, values, opportunities and experience still matter.

  • Research directions rather than job instructions
  • Test ideas through real experience
  • Keep important choices human and revisable

Use the report

Do something with the result.

The result becomes useful when you research, talk to people and try an activity.

  1. 01

    Notice the pattern

Read every area and the relationships among the strongest and closest scores.

  2. 02

    Generate questions

Identify activities, subjects and environments that could express the pattern in more than one way.

  3. 03

    Run a real-world test

Use a project, conversation, course or observation to confirm, challenge or deepen the interpretation.
